The Arts at LCS
The Arts at Lincoln Community School flourishes at every grade level. Whether your interest lies in fine art, music, drama or film, there is something for everyone at LCS.
The Arts at LCS
Art in the Elementary School
The Primary Years Programme encourages the expression of creativity through art whether that is through painting and drawing, dramatic performances or music. As you walk in to the atrium of the new LCS Elementary School building you will usually find displays of artwork greeting you. Students of the Elementary School engage in artistic creativity in every grade and unit of inquiry learning to express their learning through practical creativity.

Art in the Secondary School
Starting in the Middle School, students have the opportunity to learn instruments of all kinds and can join one of the many school bands. There are two band concerts a year where the culmination of their work comes together in performances that may also form part of assessments.
Drama, theatre and dance also form part of the curriculum as well as the study of film and video production. LCS has the advantage of a black box theatre space for performance rehearsals and a newly soundproofed auditorium for larger scale productions and performances.

Fine art at LCS has a long tradition with a number of exhibitions throughout the year. The signature event is the IB Art Show where our seniors show off the work that will be assessed for their final grades.
